Brake Controls
Brake controls are designed to apply the brakes of the towed vehicle (trailer). Below are the three types of brake controls on the market today timed, inertia, and proportional. | Timed Brake Controls -
The Pilot® and PowerTrac™ are great choices for your basic economical light-duty towing needs. These time actuated controls have solid state electronics and can be mounted in any position - horizontal, vertical, even turned upside down. |

Inertia Brake Controls - The DigiTrac® II and the OmniTrac™ are excellent choices for your more demanding heavier loads and constantly changing load conditions (such as transporting horses or livestock). These advanced controls are able to detect the difference between a gradual deceleration like slowing for a stop light and the stopping power required when braking for an unexpected event.

| Proportional Brake Controls -
Proportional based controls offer a smooth braking response to almost any stop. Through the use of a sensing device, the brake control can determine the tow vehicle's rate of deceleration and then apply the trailer brakes to match. In other words, Proportional controls deliver power to the trailer brakes in direct relationship to the actual physical deceleration of the tow vehicle. |

- No manual level adjustment is necessary, it adjusts itself to varying terrains as you drive
- Equipped with a sensor that detects the tow vehicle's rate of deceleration, applies proportional braking to the trailer and features an exclusive "BoostSM" feature that gives users the ability to apply more initial trailer braking power (especially when towing heavier trailers).
